We all do it. We battle that little voice (Satan) that tells us we aren’t enough. Last week my dear friend Lauren was battling this voice.

As she neared the date for her insanely competitive interview for dental school, she questioned whether or not she was enough. Had she scored high enough on her exams? Were her grades good enough? Were her references enough? How would she compare to the other candidates? Was she good enough?

Lauren is a brilliant, talented, and driven young woman, but with so much riding on this one interview, the stress, and the adversary, saw an opportunity to creep in. All week long, she heard the whispers, “you’re not good enough.”

The morning of her interview, Lauren sat down to breakfast near the interview location. As she nervously anticipated the interview, God gave Lauren a message. Her waitress’ outstretched arm revealed a tattoo with the words,“You are enough.”

Lauren does not yet know the result of her interview. She may get in, or she may have to wait another year. Regardless of the outcome, Lauren’s God-incidence reminded her that she is exactly as God intended her to be. She is Enough.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:10
